The trail is marked with information boards that describe the individual points and attractions. Along the way, you will meet friendly locals who will gladly show you their work and treat you to local delicacies.
The starting point of the trail is in the local center of Dole pri Litiji, where you can park and head up the road to the Oglarska pot sign. It passes through the villages of Suhadole and Slavina and continues to the picturesque, 8-meter-high Bena Waterfall, which represents the lowest point of the Charcoal Trail. You ascend to the Church of St. Catherine and the Krjan Tourist Farm in Dobovica. You continue along the panoramic route above the Sopota valley with a view of the Posavsko Hribovje hills. Further on, you head past the Zavrh Mansion and the hunting lodge in Kal pri Dolah, and then back to the center of the town.
In the local center of Dole pri Litiji, you can also visit the Museum of Legendary Keyboards (Muzej legendarnih klaviatur); the Košinov Mill and the ski slope are also located in the immediate vicinity.
