The Local Community of Dole pri Litiji is part of the Municipality of Litija, located in central Slovenia within the Western Posavje Hills. The Dole Local Community lies at the municipality’s extreme eastern edge, 28 km outside of Litija, between the Sopota River valley to the north and the Bistrica River valley to the south.
Spanning an area of approximately 55 km² of hilly terrain at an average altitude of 700 meters on the edge of the Posavje Hills, the community consists of 28 villages and hamlets. It has about 766 residents living in 250 households. The largest village is Dole pri Litiji, which serves as the center of the Local Community.
Compared to the Municipality of Litija, which measures 222 km², the Dole pri Litiji Local Community covers 24.7% of the municipality’s total area.
The area is accessible from Litija via Gabrovka, Velika Preska, or Polšnik; from Radeče through the Sopota River valley; and from the Dolenjska side via Mirna and Tihaboj or through Šentrupert.
